前情提要：桃樂絲遇到稻草人、錫人和獅子，他們要一起去找回一些他們失落的東西。

Lion: I’m hungry. Could we go over and have some cookies? 

獅子說：我餓了，我們能不能過去吃些餅乾？

 

Tin Man: Let’s go and see what it is inside. 

錫人說：讓我們過去看看裡面有什麼。

 

(Knock on the door. The witch opens the door.)  (敲敲門，巫婆開門。)

 

Dorothy: Sorry to bother you but we’re tired. 

桃樂絲說：抱歉打擾妳，但我們很累。

 

Witch: Don’t worry. I’m very happy to see you all. Welcome to my house. Come in please. You must be thirsty & hungry. Have a seat. Here are some tea & cookies. Do you need anything else?

巫婆說：不用擔心，我很高興看到你們。歡迎到我家來，請進。你們一定又渴又餓，請坐，這裡有些茶和餅乾，還需要什麼嗎？

 

Dorothy: Wow! How nice it is. Thank you very much. 

桃樂絲說：哇，好棒喔，非常謝謝。

 

Scarecrow: Yes, it is nice. But I still need a good brain. 

稻草人說：對呀，真好，但我還是需要一個好的腦袋。

 

Tin Man: Yes, I want a heart.  錫人說：對，我要一顆心。

 

Lion: And I want some courage.  獅子說：我要一些勇氣。

 

Witch: First, Scarecrow, take off your hat & put on this one. 

巫婆說：首先，稻草人，脫掉你的帽子，戴上這一個。

 

Scarecrow: I feel I can think like a man. Thank you very much. 

稻草人說：我感覺我可以像人一樣思考了，非常謝謝妳。

 

Witch: Next Tin Man, you’re so kind. I’ll give you a heart. 

巫婆說：下一個錫人，你很仁慈，我將給你一顆心。

Tin Man: I feel warm and fill with passion. Thank you very much. 

錫人說：我覺得溫暖又充滿熱情，非常謝謝妳。

 

Witch: Last, Lion, I’ll give you a special medicine. 

巫婆說：最後，獅子，我將給你一種特別的藥。

 

Lion: I feel myself filled with courage. Thank you. 

 獅子說：我覺得我自己充滿了勇氣，謝謝。

 

Witch: I’m glad that you all are content.  巫婆說：我很高興你們都很滿意。

 

Dorothy: It’s too late. I should go home.  桃樂絲說：太晚了，我該回家了。

Witch: I’ll send you home. Let’s go down the stream by the boat.  巫婆說：我送你們回家，我們搭船沿河而下吧。

Mom: Dorothy, Cindy, Alice, Gretel, wake up. Dinner is ready. Would you like to come?

媽媽說：桃樂絲、仙蒂、愛麗絲、葛麗特，醒醒吧，晚餐已經準備好了，要不要來吃？

 

Dorothy: (Yawn.)Was that a dream? I can’t believe it. But I am happy that I’m back. Let’s go. I’ll tell you my dream later.

桃樂絲說(打哈欠)：那是一個夢嗎？我無法相信啊，不過我很高興我回來了，我等會兒再告訴妳我的夢。

 

Gretel, Alice, Cindy: I had a dream too. 

葛麗特、愛麗絲、仙蒂說：我也做了一個夢。

Mom: Really? You can share it with me at dinner then. Let’s go. 

媽媽說：真的嗎？妳們可以在晚餐時告訴我。我們走吧。

 

Four sisters: Yes, ma’am. (Optional: Sing “Home On the Range”)

What stories are interwoven in this story? 這故事裡有哪些童話故事的情結和人物在裡面呢？

 

補充說明：

當初設計時，因為受限於五分鐘的時間，所以沒有再編得更複雜，其實如果不受時間限制，可以放入更多情節，把更多童話故事的片斷編進去的。目前這個改編故事裡有四個主角，只有仙蒂的故事沒有編進去，有點可惜，以後有機會希望能把她的故事也編進去這裡面。這次因為中間經過了耶誕節和元旦，所以中間先介紹和節日相關的英文，這個故事才會拖到現在做結尾。感謝大家的收看！

 

接下來的幾回，我打算把這學期學生的考題拿來給大家做做看，請大家屆時可以來看看現在五年級的學生學了些什麼。
