去年到Austin住Ginger家時就看到這一篇,覺得很有意思。昨天來了再次看到,還是覺得很發人深省。同時也想起以前讀過的一篇文章,大意是說我們都會先做「緊急的事」,卻忽略了「重要的事」,每天匆匆忙忙盲目的過日子,其實是本末倒置。
朋友們,你知道你的人生中什麼是重要的事嗎?你是不是每天都在處理需要馬上處理的事,而忽略了一些不緊急但是有意義的事呢?或許有時我們需要放慢腳步,檢視一下我們的生活方向,想想我們是不是可以把生命過得更充實。我們不需要有錢,也不需要做什麼大事,有時只是一個小動作或念頭,讓我們周圍的人分享我們的關懷,也可以讓生命有意義!

The Paradox Of Our Age
We have bigger houses but smaller families;
more conveniences, but less time.
We have more degrees but less sense;
more knowledge but less judgement;
more experts, but more problems;
more medicines but less healthiness.
We've been all the way to the moon and back,
but have trouble crossing the street to meet our new neighbour.
We built more computers to hold more copies than ever,
but have less real communication.
We have become long on quantity,
but short on quality.
These are times of fast foods but slow digestion;
tall man but short characters;
steep profits but shallow relationships.
